Meet Steffany, the new groomer at Douglas Animal
Hospital. She has been grooming for over 3 years, and started
out as a bather. She has worked on almost all breeds of dogs
from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and even grooms cats.
She has a Shetland Sheepdog named Comet that turned
8 years old this January. She has trained him in many dog
sports from obedience to agility and also rally. In obedience
he is close to obtaining his first title. There were plans for him
to compete in agility, but sadly he developed arthritis at a very
young age. Currently, Dr. Douglas is using acupuncture to
relieve his joint pain which is already starting to help. Other
than competition, Steffany has plans for Comet to start doing
therapy work soon. Comet is Steffany’s pride and joy, so if you
come in for an appointment you will probably see him close by.
Steffany loves to groom, and especially enjoys the
transformation that occurs from the beginning of the process
to the end. The animals almost seem to know that they look
good.
